Our Story

The Felted Dragon as we know it today is very different from what it originally started out as!

It all started in 2014, when I wanted to make a little plush doll for myself based off of Loki, the old Norse God of Mischief, Lies, and Monsters. I drew the pattern out on paper, cut it out, taped it together and “stuffed” it with crumpled paper scraps, and satisfied with the result I immediately went off to Michael’s for some felt and yarn!

And here he is, all these years later. I even made him with little “scars” where his lips should be to represent the part of the myths where his lips were sewn shut. All in all, this tiny god took about 8 hours to make start to finish. He’s a bit weathered with age, but he’s held up pretty well through the years!

I would then go on to make all sorts of other unique little creatures, like my wolf children:

But it really took off in 2022, when I decided to really branch out and try making new things.

As my skills grew, so did my interests. Elves, woodland creatures, dragons, folklore, mythology, tabletop adventures, and fantasy craftsmanship gradually found a home alongside one another, each adding another thread to the tapestry that would eventually become The Felted Dragon.

Today, the workshop continues to evolve into a celebration of imagination in all its forms. While many of our creations are rooted in fantasy, they’re equally inspired by the myths, folklore, and artistic traditions that have shaped storytelling across cultures for thousands of years. From handcrafted plush companions and jewelry to gaming accessories, artwork, and future collections still waiting to be imagined, every piece is created with the hope that it might spark curiosity, comfort, or the beginning of a new adventure.
